Public and Corporate Finance

JACK NELSON JONES has developed a strong reputation for providing quality services in the public and corporate finance area. The firm has participated in hundreds of tax exempt and taxable public finance transactions representing issuers as bond counsel as well as serving as underwriter’s counsel, issuer’s counsel and special tax counsel.

These transactions have involved issuers ranging from cities, counties, volunteer fire departments, public facility boards, public building authorities and improvement districts to private schools, universities and colleges in Arkansas and in many other states from coast to coast.

The firm has served as bond counsel for several local entities including University of Central Arkansas located in Conway, Arkansas, the fastest growing four-year institution of higher education in Arkansas, and the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas with respect to one of the initial tax increment financing transactions in Arkansas.

The firm works closely with investment banking firms and issuers on taxable and tax-exempt financing transactions. Regular clients include Crews & Associates, Inc., an Arkansas-based investment banking firm with broad experience in municipal bond and lease transactions.

In addition to the public finance transactions, JACK NELSON JONES has been involved in a number of equity financing transactions in and around Arkansas which provided financing for retirement complexes, shopping centers, office buildings and commercial and residential condominiums. The firm has developed a significant practice in the area of oil and gas related financing including debt offerings for exploration companies and drilling operators. With the recent explosion of natural gas exploration in the Fayetteville Shale Play, the firm is positioned to use its experience to assist land owners and operators in our home state of Arkansas. 


Real Estate and Environmental Law

JACK NELSON JONES has extensive experience in all facets of real estate practice. The firm has become well versed in property acquisition, sales, financing, construction contracts and leasing matters by representing clients in some of the largest real estate development projects in Arkansas and other states.


The firm has represented Arkansas' largest commercial real estate company in transactional and litigation matters. Our attorneys also represented the owner of Arkansas' largest commercial office building from the building’s development through its refinancing and in day-to-day dealings with tenants and lender. Additionally, our firm has provided legal advice to several of the largest real estate and multi-family developers in the North Central Arkansas area. Our attorneys routinely handle litigation involving real property issues such as evictions, lease disputes, property rights, zoning, foreclosures, financings and other issues.
