Biography:

Mika Shadid Tucker was born and raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas. After graduating from North Little Rock High School, Ms. Tucker attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville as a University Scholar. While studying Public Relations and Advertising, Ms. Tucker served as President of the Student Advertising Association, held several Public Relations internships and was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

After graduating college and attending one year of law school in Fayetteville, Ms. Tucker returned home to central Arkansas to complete her legal education. While attending law school in Little Rock, Ms. Tucker worked at the Prosecutor’s Office for the Sixth Judicial District as an Arkansas Supreme Court Certified Rule XV law clerk. As a student attorney in the UALR Bowen School of Law’s Litigation Clinic, she counseled and represented a juvenile defendant against robbery charges. She also clerked for Perroni, James and House, P.A. during several law school semesters.

During her first year as an associate with the firm, she served as a prosecutor for the City of Bryant, trying numerous misdemeanors in Saline County Circuit Court and District Court. Within weeks of her admission to the Arkansas Bar, Ms. Tucker represented an Arkansas corporation in an administrative hearing before the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission. Additionally, Ms. Tucker was among a panel of JACK NELSON JONES JILES & GREGORY, P.A. attorneys who wrote and presented the 2006 CLE for Acxiom Corp. entitled, “HIPAA: Legal and Ethical Issues Concerning Information Technology Companies.”

Ms. Tucker gratefully serves two local institutions that had significant roles in her childhood. She represents her alma mater, the North Little Rock School District. Also, Ms. Tucker serves on the 2007-2008 Arkansas Children’s Hospital Committee for the Future Executive Board benefiting the hospital at which she underwent heart surgery in 1983.

Ms. Tucker is married to fellow UALR Bowen School of Law graduate, Carson Tucker. Mr. Tucker is a native Texan who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas.

The Tuckers live with their boxer, Jonze, and golden retriever, Callie, in Ms. Tucker’s hometown of North Little Rock. The couple enjoys spending time with their friends and family, which includes Ms. Tucker’s parents, Michael and Joy Shadid, and her sister, Sammi Shadid.
