Biography:

Donald T. Jack, Jr. is the Senior Partner of Jack Nelson Jones Fink Jiles & Gregory, P.A., His primary practice areas include finance law, securities law, healthcare law and general corporate planning and advice.

Born and raised in Little Rock, Mr. Jack graduated from Catholic High School for Boys. He received his B.S.L. and L.L.B. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1967. While in law school, Mr. Jack was the Editor in Chief of the Arkansas Law Review for the 1966-1967 school year. He was active as a member and an officer in both the legal fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, and the social fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Mr. Jack began his legal career as a judicial clerk for Arkansas Supreme Court Justice George Rose Smith. During this time, Justice Smith, one of the most widely recognized state appellate court justices in the United States, wrote many of the landmark opinions on Arkansas usury law. This experience cemented Mr. Jack’s life long interest in banking law.

Mr. Jack served as a professor of Business Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock early in his legal career. In 1968, Mr. Jack joined the Little Rock firm of House, Holmes and Jewell, and he became a member in 1972. In 1986, he left with fellow members Philip Lyon and Stephen Jones to found Jack, Lyon & Jones, P.A.

Mr. Jack is grateful for the expansive education and legal practice that his clients have continued to provide him for over 40 years. His considerable body of work includes:

Mr. Jack has served as counsel to First Security Bancorp and to Crews & Associates, Inc., an Arkansas investment banking firm. In addition, he continues to represent numerous financial institutions, family-owned businesses, holding companies, real estate developers and others.

Mr. Jack is a member of Fifty for the Future and a member of the St. Vincent Health System Board of Directors. He formerly served on the board of directors for KLRE/KUAR FM Public Radio, Catholic High School for Boys and Junior Achievement of Arkansas.

Mr. Jack has been married to his wife, Ruth Ann, for more than 40 wonderful years. Mr. Jack and Ruth Ann have three daughters, one son, seven grandchildren and a multitude of friends they consider family.

Mr. Jack is an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also loves to spend time visiting with family and friends, hunting and fishing, bicycling, hiking, reading and cooking.
